Seaway Valley Soccer Club (SVSC) is a fully sanctioned club providing youth soccer to the Cornwall and SDG area. With over a thousand athletes each year our programs revolve around two pathways for players who wish to be competitive and for those that want to play recreational soccer.

All SVSC programs are based on the Ontario Talented Player Pathway and the Long-Term Player Development Model endorsed by Sport Canada and Canada Soccer.

Soccer Canada Pathway

The Canada Soccer Grassroots Standards have been designed to create the best possible learning and development environment for all young players in Canada. As adults, it is our responsibility to ensure that all of our children are able to enjoy soccer in a safe, fun, accessible, inclusive and developmentally appropriate environment.

What is Long Term Player Development (LTPD)?

LTPD is a model of athlete development that parallels what doctors and psychologists have long used to better understand human development: as a series of distinct stages, which takes us from infancy through to adulthood. A person’s abilities, behaviors and emotions, as well as their understanding of the world around them, varies from stage to stage.

What is True Sport?

They help us build the sport we want! True Sport is a series of programs and initiatives designed to give people, communities and organizations the means by which to leverage the many benefits of sport from a platform of shared values and principles.

• The True Sport Principles express an approach to sport that the vast majority of Canadians already believe in and practice. Although widely embraced, these principles often go unspoken.

** The number of festivals or tournaments attended over the summer is determined by each team - usually 3.
