For Match Officials
BECOME A MATCH OFFICIAL?
Match officials are formally certified individuals who will referee and assistant referee games for SVSC. They will either lead small-sided (7v7) or entry-level (11v11) games.
Requirements:
- Must be 12 years old by March 31, 2025 (for small-sided games)
- Must be 14 years old by March 31, 2025 (for entry-level games)
- Must complete the formal Ontario Soccer training course
- Must be reliable once assigned to games
Match Officials can earn up to $40 per game
BECOME A GAME LEADER?
Game Leaders are a stepping stone and the first introduction to officiating youth. They lead our youth recreational club games from U7 to U13.
Requirements:
- Must be 12 years old by March 31, 2025 (for small-sided games)
- Complete the Game Leader Screening Program
- Must be reliable and organized
- Must be willing to lead a club game for younger players and be open to learning
Game Leaders can earn up to $30 per game
Referee Courses
House League - must be at least 12 years old by March 31st 2025
Competitive - must be 14 years old by March 31st 2025
